As a young mother, Lori Hensley observed that many young adults raised in God-fearing homes were choosing a different standard of living, leaving the church and embracing a worldlier lifestyle. Meditating on the word “train” from Proverbs 22:6, she realized that as a culture we were missing what it really meant. This began a life-long journey on understanding and implementing godly training with her own kids, other parents, children’s church, and missions.

Years later, while searching for curriculum for children’s church, Lori discovered KIMI. She identified with Becky Fischer’s training and wanted to be able to learn and do more. Lori went through the School of Supernatural Children’s Ministry and began using the curriculum and training others to be children’s workers.

This led to a radical change in the structure of the children’s department at her church, including shifting from the old Sunday school format into a children’s church, complete with altar calls. Kids began to have encounters with the Lord, prophesying and praying for others. Remarkably, sometimes the children’s church went longer than the adult church because of the altar response.

sheep farmersIn 2010, Lori’s husband David retired from the business world and they became goat and sheep farmers in Tennessee. Children visit the farm to pet the animals but also to learn that they, too, can hear the voice of their Shepherd: “When the shepherd goes before them, the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of the strangers” (John 10:4-5).

Lori’s quest to learn what the word “train” means many years ago has paid off personally with her own children, who are all walking with the Lord, and with her service to the Church and beyond. Now with experience backing up her convictions, Lori is excited to become part of the KIMI team as Tennessee director and help other children’s workers and parents purposefully train their children.

Lori conducts School of Supernatural Children’s Ministry training and Power Club training events. She is available to speak in churches as a Kids in Ministry representative and is also available for parenting classes. You can contact Lori by e-mailing kimilori@yahoo.com or calling 757-777-7371.
